Horseplayers’ Happy Hour – 9/12/25
By Nick Tammaro | @NTamm1215

BAQ RACE 6: 5-2-6-8

There’s no doubt that if #5 SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN runs his last race, he will win.  He stands to get loose early in this field with lasix for the first time, and his effort when 2nd last time out was gigantic.  All signs point to him being a safe Pick 6 single.

BAQ RACE 7: 4-2-3-6

After scratches, #2 AGGREGATION looks to be a very likely winner.  He was good when 2nd last out off a long break, but trainer Chad Brown has excellent numbers with fresh horses.  The pace should be somewhat contested, but that will not preclude him from stalking and pouncing.

BAQ RACE 8: 3-7-8-10

The race that #3 IRON MAX ran last time out was almost too good to be believed.  He made a huge middle move after a slow break from the gate and wound up staying on to the finish.  There should be more than enough pace to setup his late run today.

BAQ RACE 9: 7-11-4-3

#7 JUST FOR LUCK has had some trip related issues of late and should be on the move in the stretch today.  There’s some value to be had.  If he can negotiate a clean trip, he will be a late player in this spot.

GP RACE 8: 8-5-6-1

#8 OLGA is back from a trip to Saratoga for two starts and should benefit from the class relief.  She has been at her best over this oval and should get a decent pace setup today while offering real value at the windows.

GP RACE 9: 8-1-7-3

The pace edge of #8 SPY NOVEL is too much to overlook today as he stays at the 20k class level for the third start of his form cycle.  The move to synthetic will do him no harm either, as he is a 2x winner over all-weather surfaces.

LRC RACE 4: 4-2-9-6

#4 DISCREPANCY is bidding for two straight wins for Jerry Hollendorfer after taking an 8k event at Del Mar last month.  She should be a late player once again today at a square price in a competitive affair.

LRC RACE 5: 10-7-2-8

#10 SEPARATOR is the one to beat dropping in class for Michael McCarthy.  She has run twice against MSW company and now moves in for a tag.  That’s the biggest class drop in racing for a reason and there’s no doubt this competition is far weaker than what she’s faced before.

LRC RACE 6: 6-7-3-4

#6 ARA is a live longshot to try coming off a win against N2L claimers at the $6,250 level here at Los Al.  She is quick off the mark and has been successful going a traditional 6 panels in the past. Look for aggressive tactics to be used.

LRC RACE 7: 2-9-3-4

If pace makes the race then #2 GOLDENSUNRISE is going to be tough to beat.  He is the one to catch from an inside post and should be in line to get clear this afternoon.  The class drop s no great worry given his back class and prior dirt form.
