Horseshoe Indy 5/19 Spot Plays

HORSESHOE INDIANAPOLIS SPOT PLAYS – Monday, May 19, 2025
By Nick Tammaro | @NTamm1215

RACE 4 – #1 RENOIR

This Rudy Brisset second timer showed plenty on debut, rallying from well off the pace in a race totally dominated on the front end by eventual winner Insta Kiss.  This gal angled out in upper stretch and was hitting her best stride in the final furlong.  She should benefit from having that race behind her and should relish the added ground.  Her pedigree is geared for distance and what makes her most appealing is that the two invaders from Kentucky are untrustworthy.

RACE 6 – #1 GOLDWYN

I can’t believe for a second we’ll get 30-1 on this Destin Heath trainee who had real speed in four starts as a 2YO.  He’s back off the layoff with lasix for the first time today and this is a classic handicapping angle that can be employed with success.  When a 3YO re-surfaces after running races as a juvenile that were fast, they often explode first time out speed figure-wise.  The price here is going to be good, even if short of the 30-1 morning line and the speed form the rail makes him formidable as well.

RACE 8 – #4 TUTTA BELLA

Trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Correas IV brings this daughter of Accelerate back off a debut run where she went off 22-1 and did little to no running.  The winner of that race, Lovely Emma, dominated things on the front end and subsequently came back to go off favored in the Take the A Train at Aqueduct.  This filly will improve with experience and meets a soft field today.  Having more speed will undoubtedly help her cause.

Good luck and we’ll see you back Tuesday on this 4-day racing week!
