Parx Racing 12/14/21

Parx Racing Spot Plays

Race 2: #1 Tate

  • Tate looks like he likes to do his running down the final stretch no matter the distance. So the more distance the better. Today he goes from 1 turn sprints back to 2 turn distance races. This field is wide open even with two Jamie Ness entrants. I think Tate should be able to improve and Vargas jr. will have this horse closer than before now that he knows this horse likes to make his move out of the turn. Should improve today.

Race 5: #5 Johnny Oil

  • Johnny Oil won for us at 5/1 last time out in his debut race. He won that race by 8 lengths and it was easy. Granted it was against the bottom level maidens at Parx and now he steps up to winners and OC company at that. This horse will be double digits on the tote board. I think he has the ability to win and I can’t pass up that price off that debut effort.

Race 7: #8 Colour Guard

  • Colour Guard seems to be live in this spot for Angel Castillo Sanchez. He has the ability to go to the lead or press the early speed which I like. I think Milan will definitely be aggressive out of the gate and have this horse forwardly placed. If this horse is forwardly placed, then this horse can win and without a doubt compete.
